Will Australia's Parliament pass the EU free trade deal before Jul 1, 2027?
If the Australian Parliament's passage of the legislation implementing the Australia-European Union Free Trade Agreement is confirmed by any of the Source Agencies after Issuance and before Jul 1, 2027, then the market resolves to Yes. Secondary rules: This must be confirmed, verified, or established as factual by at least one Source Agency. News confirmation is defined as a published article, broadcast segment, or official news report by a Source Agency, that A) explicitly states the Australian Parliament's passage of the legislation implementing the Australia-European Union Free Trade Agreement occurred, is true, or has been verified, B) based on journalistic investigation, sources, or evidence, and C) presented as factual reporting rather than speculation, rumor, or unverified allegation. The Australian Parliament passes the legislation implementing the agreement when both the House of Representatives and the Senate have passed the bill, or every bill if more than one, that gives effect to the agreement's tariff commitments in Australian law, such as amendments to the Customs Act 1901 and the Customs Tariff Act 1995. Royal Assent is not required. The following do NOT count: Signing of the agreement, tabling of the treaty text or National Interest Analysis, or a report of the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties Passage of a bill by one House only, or a motion or committee referral that does not pass a bill Approval of the agreement by the European Union, the European Parliament or any EU member state, or the agreement's entry into force Early close condition: This market will close and expire early if the event occurs.
