Event Overview

Before Jan 1, 2027 If any federal or state court issues a written temporary restraining order, preliminary or permanent injunction, stay, or vacatur whose operative terms require the White House to let CNN's journalists or crews travel on Air Force One in a case concerning the White House's exclusion of CNN from Air Force One before Jan 1, 2027, then the market resolves to Yes. The ruling must: Be issued by any federal or state court in a case concerning the White House's exclusion of CNN from Air Force One Address the matter described by the specified judgment Be issued through a written order, opinion, judgment, or decision The live case is Cable News Network, Inc. v. Trump, No. 1:26-cv-03287 (D.D.C.), but an order in any other case concerning CNN's exclusion from Air Force One also qualifies. Partial relief counts. A written order whose operative terms require the White House to let CNN's journalists or crews travel on Air Force One, or bar it from excluding them, qualifies even if it is interim, covers only CNN, or covers only some flights or pool assignments. A temporary restraining order qualifies when it is issued in writing, even if it is later stayed, vacated or reversed, and it need not be converted into a preliminary injunction. The following do NOT satisfy the Payout Criterion: The White House letting CNN back on Air Force One without a qualifying written order An order reaching only White House hard passes, the briefing room, the Oval Office or another venue, or only an outlet other than CNN, unless its operative terms also reach CNN's access to Air Force One A ruling that continues, affirms or narrows the existing hard-pass injunction without addressing Air Force One Oral rulings from the bench unless reduced to a written order Tentative rulings that are not made final Draft opinions that leak but are not officially issued Settlements or voluntary dismissals Administrative or scheduling orders Orders to show cause Minute orders that do not address the substantive issue in the specified judgment For clarity: Sua sponte rulings count if they match the specified judgment Per curiam opinions and summary orders count as rulings If multiple judges issue separate opinions, the majority/plurality opinion controls This market will close and expire early if the event occurs.
