Will the CFP approve a 24-team playoff before Dec 2, 2026?
If the College Football Playoff (CFP) has officially approved, through a binding decision by its authorized governing body or bodies, a fully adopted CFP championship format with exactly 24 participating teams and is confirmed by any of the Source Agencies after Issuance and before Dec 2, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes. Secondary rules: In order for the market to resolve to Yes, a Source Agency must report that the College Football Playoff (CFP) has officially approved a fully adopted championship format with exactly 24 participating teams. Both the binding approval and the qualifying news confirmation must occur after Issuance and before Dec 2, 2026. The decision must be official, binding action by the body or bodies authorized to adopt the CFP championship format. The approved format may first be implemented in a later season. The number of distinct teams admitted to the CFP championship competition includes an opening or play-in round that is an integral part of that championship bracket. It does not count teams appearing only in separate qualification games, conference championship games, or unrelated bowls. Byes do not add teams. A format with fewer or more than 24 teams does not qualify. Kalshi is not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with the College Football Playoff.
