Event Overview

Before Jan 1, 2027 If the U.S. Department of Justice or the White House announces that a recipient other than Nick Shirley has received or will receive a monetary reward under the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program (WHIP) before Jan 1, 2027, then the market resolves to Yes. The Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program (WHIP) is the Justice Department reward program announced on Oct 20, 2026, which the Department's published terms also call the National Fraud Enforcement Division Criminal Tip Rewards Pilot Program. Subject to the exclusions below, a reward counts if the Justice Department or the White House presents or describes it as a reward for reporting fraud, whether or not the announcement names the program and whether or not the Department has published a reward determination. A statement by the President or the Vice President counts as a White House announcement. The announcement need not name the recipient, but it must identify a specific person, tip or matter, and it must be clear that the recipient is someone other than Nick Shirley, for example by identifying a different matter or more than one recipient. The reward may be of any amount, and the tip, investigation or criminal charges behind it may predate Issuance. The following do NOT count: An announcement of the program's rules, funding, tip portal or reward rates, without saying that a particular recipient has been or will be paid A statement that tipsters could be or may be eligible for a reward, without saying that a particular recipient has been or will be paid A repeat announcement, restatement or news report of a reward announced before Issuance A reward under any other whistleblower program, such as False Claims Act relator shares, the Criminal Division's Corporate Whistleblower Awards Pilot Program or the Antitrust Division's whistleblower rewards program Any further reward to Nick Shirley or an entity he controls This market will close and expire early if the event occurs.
