Will it be reported by any of the Source Agencies that the United States has in effect a Section 232 tariff of 50% on imports of wood kitchen cabinets and vanities before Jan 2, 2027?
If the United States has in effect a Section 232 tariff of 50% on imports of wood kitchen cabinets and vanities after Issuance and before Jan 2, 2027, then the market resolves to Yes. Secondary rules: A tariff is in effect when a presidential proclamation, executive order or Federal Register notice is legally in force and being applied to imports. The Section 232 duty rate on wood kitchen cabinets, vanities and their parts must be in force at 50%. A rate below 50% resolves this market NO. An effective date later than January 1, 2027 resolves this market NO, even if the instrument has issued. If the increase scheduled for January 1, 2027 is delayed, reduced or rescinded before it takes effect, or a court blocks it, this market resolves NO. Country-specific caps, exemptions or agreements, including the existing caps for the United Kingdom, the European Union and Japan, do not prevent a Yes resolution, provided the 50% rate is in force for imports not covered by such an agreement. The following do NOT count: An announcement, including a social media post. An instrument that has been signed but has not taken effect. A Section 232 tariff on other wood products, including upholstered wooden furniture, softwood timber and lumber. Early close condition: This market will close and expire early if the event occurs.
