Event Overview

This market will resolve to "Yes" if, between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, a qualifying player officially announces his or her retirement from competitive Dota 2. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For the purposes of this market, a "qualifying player" is a player who (1) has total Dota 2 prize money earnings of at least $250,000, as listed on his or her Liquipedia player page (https://liquipedia.net/dota2) at the time of the announcement, and (2) played in at least one official match of a Dota 2 tournament listed as Tier 1 on Liquipedia during 2026, as a member of a team's lineup or as a stand-in. The announcement must clearly state that the player is retiring from competitive play, and must come from the player, the player's official representatives, or the player's team. A move to a coaching, analyst, casting, or streaming role qualifies only if the announcement clearly states that the player is ending his or her playing career. A break, a move to inactive status, a release from a team, or free agency will not qualify. The primary resolution source for this market will be official statements from the player or team; however, a consensus of credible reporting, including Liquipedia, may also be used.
