About This Event
In the upcoming League One match between Wigan Athletic FC and Barnsley FC, originally scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event): This market will resolve to "Wigan Athletic FC" if Wigan Athletic FC are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. This market will resolve to "Barnsley FC" if Barnsley FC are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, this market will resolve to "Neither". If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand. Otherwise, the following no-result provisions apply. If the game is canceled, does not start by Monday, November 16, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, this market will resolve to "Neither". The following abandonment rules apply only when this market's outcome was not already definitively determined under its rules before abandonment. If the game is abandoned, this market will resolve according to the official ruling of the governing body or event organizers on the abandoned game. If the result as played at the time of abandonment is declared to stand by Monday, November 16, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve based on the game as played. If the game is replayed or resumed from the point of abandonment and has an official result by Monday, November 16, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve based on the completed result. In any other case, including a result awarded that differs from the score as played, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to the outcome within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor names, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences in a team's or player's name will not affect resolution, provided the intended team or player can be clearly and uniquely identified as a participant in the listed fixture or competition. If a listed name has no reasonable connection to any participant, or could reasonably refer to more than one participant such that the intended team or player cannot be determined, this market will resolve as it would if the listed fixture had been canceled entirely; a listed participant who cannot be identified does not count as inactive or absent. The primary resolution source for this market will be official match information from League One (https://www.efl.com/). If the governing body or event organizers have not published final statistics within 2 hours of the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve to "Neither".

What the contract measures
The three Polymarket contracts in this snapshot all concern the same fixture, the Wigan Athletic FC vs. Barnsley FC League One match. The Wigan and Barnsley contracts ask which team scores first within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time [1]. The third asks whether neither team scores first in that window [1]. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded [1].
The rules describe the match as "originally scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event)" [1]. That date comes from the rule text, not from a confirmed current schedule. The listed end time for all three markets is 2026-11-14T15:00:00.000Z [1]. The rules also state that if the game does not start by Monday, November 16, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, the market resolves to "Neither" [1].
Reading the snapshot
The provider observed these prices at 2026-11-06T12:00:06.153Z, and the record was retrieved on 2026-11-07T07:42:13.932Z [1]. Those are past observations. They are not live quotes.
The Yes prices were 0.48 for Wigan to score first, 0.48 for Barnsley to score first, and 0.445 for neither team to score first [1]. The corresponding No prices were 0.52, 0.52, and 0.555 [1]. The Yes prices add up to 1.405, which is more than 1. Because these are snapshot prices, not verified probabilities, they cannot be read as a consistent probability split from this record alone. The evidence does not explain the gap.
The coverage record shows three of three markets included, with no partial sample flagged [1]. However, the sample warning states that this does not establish that the providers list every possible real-world outcome [1]. Each market is also a separate question, so the rankings should not be combined with markets from other events.
What remains uncertain
The evidence does not show the current status of the match, whether the fixture has changed, or what prices are now. It also does not explain why prices moved or how many people are trading. Volume is not liquidity, and a difference between contracts is not an arbitrage opportunity.
Resolution depends on the rules' sources. The primary source is official match information from League One, with Flashscore, Sofascore, and consensus reporting as fallbacks [1]. Any price in this snapshot should be checked against the live market and the resolution terms before drawing conclusions.

Saved Nov 7, 2026 UTCOverview
This PredictPedia entry covers a Polymarket event contract on the first team to score in the League One match between Wigan Athletic FC and Barnsley FC. The match was originally scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM ET, as recorded when the first market related to the event was created [1]. The event's listed end time is 15:00 UTC on November 14, 2026 [1]. Because the match was scheduled as of market creation, the fixture date and time should be checked against official league information before relying on it. The event contains three related markets. One asks whether Wigan Athletic FC will score first, one asks whether Barnsley FC will score first, and one asks whether neither team will score first in the match [1]. Each market is framed around which outcome occurs first within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time [1]. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded from the outcome [1]. The rules describe how each market resolves in several situations. If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, the market resolves to "Neither" [1]. If the game is canceled, does not start by Monday, November 16, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, the market also resolves to "Neither" [1]. Where a match is abandoned, the rules refer to the official ruling of the governing body or event organizers, and to whether the result as played is declared to stand or the game is replayed or resumed with an official result by the same deadline [1]. The primary resolution source is official match information from League One, with Flashscore, Sofascore, and then a consensus of credible reporting named as fallbacks under stated conditions [1]. The rules also address naming. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate spellings, sponsor names, and minor formatting differences do not affect resolution, provided the intended team can be clearly identified in the listed fixture [1]. Revisions to final scores made after the market resolves are not counted [1]. The page's status shows the event as active [1]. Prices shown for each market are snapshots that can change, and they are not executable quotes.
Historical Context
Wigan Athletic's Wikipedia season article describes the 2026-27 season as the club's 95th season and its fourth consecutive season in League One, with participation also planned in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, and the EFL Trophy [2]. An earlier season article describes the 2016-17 season as the club's 85th year and its first back in the Championship after promotion the previous season [3]. These pages provide background on the club's league history only and do not confirm the current status of any competition or match.
Why It Matters
The contract measures which team, if either, scores first in a single football match, within regulation time plus stoppage time [1]. It does not measure the final score, the match winner, or any goal after the first. The Neither market captures matches where no team scores in that window, and the cancellation rules place those cases in the same bucket [1]. Understanding the exact window and the no-result provisions is central to reading what each market can and cannot settle on.
Snapshot context
The latest published provider snapshot for this topic was observed on 2026-11-06 at 12:00 UTC. It contains listings from Polymarket. Market descriptions and listed closing times define the contracts; they do not establish that the real-world outcome has occurred. This article does not include a separately verified news update. [1]
