About This Event

Legislative elections to elect the 350 members of the Congress of Deputies of Spain are scheduled to take place on November 29, 2026. This market will resolve according to the political party that wins the greatest number of seats in the Congress of Deputies of Spain in the constituency of Ciudad Real as a result of this election. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by November 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". Parties will be ranked by the number of seats won by their electoral lists (candidaturas) in the constituency of Ciudad Real, attributed as set out below. If two or more parties are tied on seats, ties will be broken by the total number of valid votes received by their lists in the constituency of Ciudad Real, with higher vote totals ranking higher. If parties remain tied, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the listed party names. This market will resolve to the party that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking. Seats and votes will be attributed according to the electoral list on which they were obtained, as reported in the official results, regardless of the party membership of individual candidates. Lists will be attributed as follows: PSOE: lists of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, including the Partit dels Socialistes de Catalunya (PSC) lists in Catalonia. PP: lists of the People's Party, including the joint UPN–PP list in Navarre. Broad Front (FA): all Broad Front lists, including Catalunya en Comú in Catalonia, Compromís–Valencian Front in the Valencian Community, and Canarian People’s Unity (UPC) in the Canary Islands. ERC: Republican Left of Catalonia lists, including the joint ERC–Podem lists in Catalonia. Podemos: only lists presented by Podemos on its own. CCa: Canarian Coalition lists, including the joint CCa–1º CAN lists in the Canary Islands. Any other list will be attributed to the party or coalition that presents it, as named in the official proclamation of candidacies. Electoral cooperation, endorsements, coalition agreements, or subsequent changes in party affiliation or parliamentary-group membership will not be considered. This market will resolve based on the results of the elections, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. In the case of ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on the results as reported by the Spanish Ministry of the Interior (https://infoelectoral.interior.gob.es/).

What the contract measures

This event asks which party will win the most seats in the Congress of Deputies constituency of Ciudad Real [1]. Each market is a separate Yes or No question about one party. The contract text says the legislative elections "are scheduled to take place on November 29, 2026" [1]. This is a date from the contract description of the scheduled election. The evidence does not establish any other event date.

Seats are counted by electoral list, and some lists are assigned to parties in specific ways. For example, PSOE includes Partit dels Socialistes de Catalunya lists in Catalonia, and Broad Front includes Catalunya en Comú lists [1]. Ties are broken first by total valid votes in Ciudad Real, then by alphabetical order of party names [1]. If results are not definitively known by November 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market resolves to "Other" [1]. The listed end time is 2026-11-30T04:59:00.000Z [1]. This listed close differs from the 2027 resolution deadline in the rules, so readers should not treat them as the same cutoff.

Reading the snapshot

The saved market data was observed at 2026-10-23T00:00:06.081Z and retrieved at 2026-10-23T02:18:35.845Z [1]. These values describe that moment and are not live prices. The five included Yes prices are 0.74 for PP, 0.16 for PSOE, 0.08 for Vox, 0.0525 for Podemos, and 0.039 for Broad Front (FA) [1]. These are snapshots, not executable quotes or verified probabilities. Because the Yes prices across these markets add up to slightly more than 1, they should not be read as a calibrated probability distribution.

The coverage record shows five of five markets included and no partial sample [1]. The source also states that this does not establish that the provider lists every possible real-world outcome [1]. The saved set therefore covers only the five parties named here. Any party not listed is outside this snapshot, and its absence does not imply a particular price.

What remains uncertain

The evidence covers one provider event on one platform, so no cross-platform comparison is possible. The excerpt does not explain why prices stand where they do, and it contains no information on polling, campaign developments, trader counts, or liquidity. The election is described as scheduled, and nothing in the evidence shows a result. Price differences between related contracts should not be treated as an arbitrage opportunity without checking that their wording, outcomes, and close times match.

Overview

This PredictPedia market is tied to the Spanish general election in the constituency of Ciudad Real. The contract asks which party or list will win the greatest number of seats in the Congress of Deputies from that constituency. The source states that legislative elections to elect the 350 members of the Congress of Deputies are scheduled for November 29, 2026 [1]. The rules define how seats are counted. Parties are ranked by the seats their electoral lists win in Ciudad Real. If two or more parties tie on seats, the tie is broken by total valid votes received by their lists in the constituency. If they still tie, the tie is broken by alphabetical order of the listed party names [1]. The market resolves to whichever party finishes highest after that ranking [1]. The rules also specify how lists are grouped. PSOE includes Partit dels Socialistes de Catalunya lists in Catalonia. PP includes the joint UPN-PP list in Navarre. Broad Front (FA) includes several regional lists, such as Catalunya en Comú and Compromís-Valencian Front. ERC includes joint ERC-Podem lists in Catalonia. Podemos counts only lists it presents on its own. CCa includes joint CCa-1º CAN lists in the Canary Islands. Any other list is attributed to the party or coalition that presents it, as named in the official proclamation of candidacies [1]. Electoral cooperation, endorsements, coalition agreements, and later changes in party affiliation or parliamentary-group membership are not considered [1]. The source gives a date for when the contract closes and when it must be resolved. The listed end time is November 30, 2026 at 04:59 UTC. If the official results are not definitively known by November 30, 2027 at 11:59 PM ET, the market resolves to Other [1]. That 2027 date is a contract rule deadline, not an announced event date. Resolution is based on a consensus of credible reporting, and if that is ambiguous, on results reported by the Spanish Ministry of the Interior [1]. The saved market set for this event includes separate contracts asking whether PP, PSOE, Vox, Podemos, and Broad Front (FA) will win the most seats in Ciudad Real [1]. Each is a separate yes or no contract on the same underlying question. Their prices are snapshots at the observation time and are not executable quotes.

Historical Context

The supplied background sources are general, not specific to Ciudad Real. A Wikipedia page lists constituency results for the 1923 Spanish general election [2], but the retrieved excerpt does not provide details about that election beyond this description. A Wikipedia page on the 1979 Spanish general election states that the election was held on 1 March 1979 to elect members of the 1st Cortes Generales under the Spanish Constitution of 1978. All 350 seats in the Congress of Deputies were up for election, along with all 208 Senate seats. It was the first election held under that constitution, which had been approved in a referendum on 6 December 1978 and lowered the voting age from 21 to 18 [3]. These sources describe past elections only and do not describe the 2026 contest.

Why It Matters

The contract measures which party or list places first in seat count in one constituency of one national legislative election. Because it turns on a single constituency, it does not directly measure the national result [1]. The rules matter because they define how lists are grouped, how ties are handled, and what happens if results are not known in time [1]. Market prices are snapshots of what traders were willing to pay at the observation time and do not show what the outcome will be.

Snapshot context

The latest published provider snapshot for this topic was observed on 2026-10-23 at 00:00 UTC. It contains listings from Polymarket. Market descriptions and listed closing times define the contracts; they do not establish that the real-world outcome has occurred. This article does not include a separately verified news update.
