What the contract measures
This event asks which team Steph Curry's next team will be. The rules state that the market "will resolve to the next team Steph Curry officially joins by February 11, 2027, 11:59 PM ET" [1]. If he does not officially join a new team by then, the market "will resolve to "Golden State Warriors"" [1]. Joining a team that is not listed resolves to "Other", and so does being released, retiring, or not being under contract with any professional team by the deadline [1]. An official trade announcement before the close date resolves the market immediately to the matching option [1]. The primary sources are official announcements from the Golden State Warriors and or the acquiring team, and a consensus of credible media reporting may also be used [1].
Reading the snapshot
The provider observed this event at 09:00 UTC on 17 October 2026, and the source was retrieved at 11:19 UTC the same day [1]. These figures describe that snapshot only. They are not executable quotes or verified probabilities. In the observed sample, the Yes price for the Golden State Warriors was 0.9805, and the Yes price for the Boston Celtics was 0.013 [1]. Other included teams have lower Yes prices, such as the Miami Heat at 0.0005 [1]. The listed end time is 2027-02-12T04:59:00.000Z, which corresponds to the February 11, 2027, 11:59 PM ET deadline in the rules [1]. A listed end time is a contract setting, not an announced event date.
This is a partial sample. It includes 12 of 30 markets from this one provider event [1]. The omitted teams are not shown, so their prices are unknown here, and no ranking or conclusion about them should be drawn from this sample. Volume is not part of this comparison and does not indicate liquidity or the number of traders.
What remains uncertain
The evidence does not show what has happened since the 09:00 UTC observation on 17 October 2026, so prices may have changed. It also does not explain why prices sit where they do. Because the Warriors outcome is the default if no move occurs by the deadline, and "Other" covers several separate cases, readers should review the full rule text before comparing this contract with others. Other platforms may use different wording or close times, so their prices should not be averaged with these.

Overview
This PredictPedia market is an event contract titled "NBA: Steph Curry Next Team." It asks which team Stephen Curry will next officially join, with resolution set by a deadline of February 11, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, according to the contract rules [1]. The listed end time for the event is 2027-02-12T04:59:00.000Z, which is the contract's closing timestamp, not an announced event date [1]. The rules define the outcomes. If Curry does not officially join a new team by the deadline, the market resolves to "Golden State Warriors" [1]. If he joins a team that is not listed, it resolves to "Other." The same applies if he is released, retires, or is not under contract with any professional team by the deadline [1]. An official trade announcement made before the close date resolves the market immediately to the matching option [1]. The primary resolution sources are official announcements from the Golden State Warriors and or the acquiring team. The rules also allow a consensus of credible media reporting to be used [1]. Each team in the event is a separate outcome, so the contract is a set of mutually exclusive team choices within one event [1]. The market's price snapshots show the relative pricing of each named team at the time they were observed. They are not executable quotes or verified probabilities, and trading volume does not describe liquidity or the number of traders. The available market sample for this event is partial, so it should be read only as the included outcomes listed for this event.
Historical Context
Background from the supplied Wikipedia excerpts describes Stephen Curry as widely regarded as one of the greatest shooters in basketball history and as having helped popularize the three-point shot across all levels of basketball [2]. The same excerpts note that his brother Seth played college basketball at Liberty University before transferring to Duke, and that he is the son of former NBA player Dell Curry [3]. These sources are general biographical background and do not describe the history of this specific contract.
Why It Matters
The contract measures which team Stephen Curry officially joins by February 11, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, with the outcome set to the Warriors if he remains with them or does not join a new team [1]. It also captures a scenario in which he is released, retires, or is not under contract, or joins an unlisted team, all of which resolve to "Other" [1]. Because the rules tie resolution to official announcements or credible media consensus, the market reflects how these events are reported rather than an independent measure of player performance [1].
Snapshot context
The latest published provider snapshot for this topic was observed on 2026-10-17 at 09:00 UTC. It contains listings from Polymarket.
