About This Event
This market will resolve to "Up" if the reference price for US Dollar / Swiss Franc (USD/CHF) on October 28, 2026 is higher than the reference price for the most recent prior reference day. This market will resolve to "Down" if it is lower. If the two reference prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50. For each day, the reference price is the "Close" value of the Pyth 1-minute candle timestamped 4:59 PM ET (covering 4:59:00–4:59:59 PM ET) on that date. Reference prices will be used exactly as published by Pyth, without rounding. A "reference day" is any day on which the applicable trading session for US Dollar / Swiss Franc (USD/CHF), per the trading-hours schedule listed on Pyth, includes 4:59 PM ET. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its reference price, since weekend sessions (where applicable) do not include a 4:59 PM ET close; if that Friday were a market holiday, it would refer to the next most recent prior reference day. All times are Eastern Time, and each day refers to the Eastern Time calendar date. If no valid Pyth Close value exists for the 4:59 PM ET 1-minute candle on any day for which a reference price is being determined — including October 28, 2026 itself, such as on a day with shortened trading hours — the last valid Pyth price published prior to 5:00 PM ET on that date will be used as that day's reference price. If no valid Pyth price is published at all on the prior reference day — due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption — the next most recent prior reference day on which a valid Pyth price was published will be used in its place. If no valid Pyth price is published at all on October 28, 2026, or if October 28, 2026 is not a trading day under the applicable trading-hours schedule as listed on Pyth, this market will resolve 50-50. The resolution source for this market is Pyth, specifically the "Close" value of the relevant 1-minute candle for US Dollar / Swiss Franc (USD/CHF) available at https://pythdata.app/explore/FX.USD%2FCHF. Historical 1-minute candles may be accessed by appending a Unix timestamp (seconds) to the Pyth chart URL using the "t=" parameter.

What the contract measures
This is a single Polymarket contract on whether the US Dollar / Swiss Franc (USD/CHF) pair will be up or down on October 28, 2026. It resolves "Up" if the October 28 reference price is higher than the reference price for the most recent prior reference day, and "Down" if it is lower [1]. Reference prices are the Pyth "Close" value of the 1-minute candle timestamped 4:59 PM ET, used without rounding [1].
The rules include several fallbacks. If no valid Pyth Close exists for the 4:59 PM ET candle, the last valid Pyth price published before 5:00 PM ET on that date is used [1]. If the two reference prices are exactly equal, the market resolves 50-50 [1]. The rules also state that all times are Eastern Time, while the listed end time appears as 2026-10-28T21:00:00.000Z [1]. Readers comparing timing should convert these carefully rather than treat the UTC end time and the 4:59 PM ET reference as the same clock reading.
Reading the snapshot
The provider observed this market at 2026-10-28T00:00:06.241Z, and the evidence was retrieved at 2026-10-28T01:13:28.347Z [1]. The market status was active at the time of retrieval [1]. This is a record of an earlier observation, not a live quote.
The snapshot shows Up at 0.5 and Down at 0.5 [1]. These are prices in a saved snapshot. They are not executable quotes, and they should not be read as verified probabilities.
The sample is complete for this provider event: one market was found, one was included, and the sample is not partial [1]. Because only one platform and one event are present, there is no cross-platform comparison to make. Any similarly named contract on another venue may use different reference prices, timing, or resolution rules, so its price should not be compared directly with this one.
What remains uncertain
The evidence does not explain why the prices stand where they do, and it does not show trading activity, liquidity, or the number of participants. The sample warning also states that the saved data does not establish that the provider lists every possible real-world outcome [1].
The evidence does not include the actual October 28 reference prices or the final resolution. Whether the market resolves Up, Down, or 50-50 depends on the Pyth data described in the rules [1].

Saved Oct 28, 2026 UTCOverview
The US Dollar / Swiss Franc (USD/CHF) market is a short-horizon contract asking whether the USD/CHF exchange rate will finish higher or lower on a single trading day, October 28, 2026. The contract is built around one price comparison rather than a view on the broader currency pair, so its outcome depends on a specific published price at a specific time. The Swiss franc is the currency of Switzerland and Liechtenstein. It is also legal tender in the Italian exclave of Campione d'Italia, which is surrounded by Swiss territory [2]. The Swiss National Bank issues the banknotes, and the federal mint Swissmint issues the coins [2]. Switzerland has a highly developed free-market economy and ranks among the wealthiest countries in the world by GDP per capita [3]. This background describes the currency and its setting but does not explain how USD/CHF moves on any given day. The resolution rules are specific. The market resolves to "Up" if the reference price for USD/CHF on October 28, 2026 is higher than the reference price for the most recent prior reference day. It resolves to "Down" if the reference price is lower. If the two reference prices are exactly equal, the market resolves 50-50 [1]. Each reference price is the Close value of the Pyth 1-minute candle timestamped 4:59 PM Eastern Time, covering 4:59:00 to 4:59:59 PM ET on that date. Prices are used as Pyth publishes them, without rounding [1]. A reference day is any day on which the applicable trading session for USD/CHF, under the trading-hours schedule listed on Pyth, includes 4:59 PM ET. Weekend sessions without a 4:59 PM ET close are skipped, and a market holiday moves the reference to the next most recent prior reference day [1]. The rules include fallbacks. If no valid Pyth Close exists for the 4:59 PM ET candle on a relevant day, the last valid Pyth price published before 5:00 PM ET on that date is used instead. If no valid price is published on the prior reference day because of an outage or data failure, the next most recent prior day with a valid price is used. If no valid price is published at all on October 28, 2026, or if that date is not a trading day under the Pyth schedule, the market resolves 50-50 [1]. The designated resolution source is Pyth's USD/CHF data page, with historical 1-minute candles accessible by adding a Unix timestamp in seconds using the "t=" parameter [1]. The listed end time for the market is 2026-10-28T21:00:00.000Z [1].
Why It Matters
The contract measures the direction of one currency pair between two reference prices on a single day. Because it compares a 4:59 PM ET Pyth candle on October 28, 2026 with the prior valid reference price, it captures the movement between those two points rather than an average or a longer trend [1]. The rules also define how edge cases are handled. An exact tie resolves 50-50, and missing Pyth data triggers fallback prices or a 50-50 outcome if no valid price exists on the relevant date [1]. Anyone reading a price for this market needs to understand these terms, since the resolution depends on the Pyth reference price and not on other USD/CHF quotes or news coverage [1].
