About This Event
This market will resolve according to the party of the candidate who wins the NY-15 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The midterm elections will take place on November 3, 2026. A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
This analysis is awaiting a background update, so its prices may be older than the odds above.

What the contract measures
This event covers the NY-15 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The rules state that the market "will resolve according to the party of the candidate who wins the NY-15 congressional district seat" [1]. They also say the midterm elections "will take place on November 3, 2026" [1]. This date appears in the rules as context. It is not a separate announced event in this evidence.
Resolution depends on a candidate's party affiliation at the time House elections are "conclusively called" by the market's resolution sources. It will resolve "based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting," with the Federal Election Commission as the reference if there is ambiguity [1]. The listed end time is 2026-11-04T04:59:00.000Z [1]. This listed close time is not the same as a resolution date, and the evidence does not show when the seat will be called.
Reading the snapshot
The evidence contains two Polymarket contracts for this event. The Democratic Party contract shows Yes at 0.9785 and No at 0.0215. The Republican Party contract shows Yes at 0.015 and No at 0.985 [1]. The provider observation time is 2026-10-15T16:13:13.851Z, and the source was retrieved at 2026-10-15T20:11:40.011Z [1]. These values describe that observation, not prices at the time of reading.
These are snapshot prices, not executable quotes or verified probabilities. The two contracts are the saved markets for this event, and the coverage record reports 2 of 2 markets included with no partial sample [1]. Only one platform appears, so no cross-platform comparison is made.
What remains uncertain
The evidence does not explain why the prices stand where they do. It contains no trading volume, liquidity, or trader counts, so the prices should not be read as measures of market depth or agreement. The provider notes that including all saved markets "does not establish that the providers list every possible real-world outcome" [1]. The evidence also shows no election result.
