About This Event
This market will resolve in favor of the team that finishes the 2026-27 NFL regular season with the fewest total yards allowed per game (total yards allowed divided by games played). In the event of a tie, this market will resolve in favor of the tied team with fewer points allowed during the 2026-27 NFL regular season. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve in favor of the team with more total takeaways (interceptions plus fumble recoveries) during the 2026-27 NFL regular season. If a tie still persists, this market will resolve to “Other”. If the 2026-27 NFL season concludes early, is shortened, or is truncated for any reason, the outcome shall be determined using available NFL statistics for completed games. If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after January 26, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or it is unclear which team led the NFL in total yards allowed per game (total yards allowed divided by games played) within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
This analysis is awaiting a background update, so its prices may be older than the odds above.

What the contract measures
The event is titled "Pro Football: 2026-27 Highest-Rated Defense," but its rules define the winner by a specific statistic. The market resolves in favor of the team that finishes the 2026-27 NFL regular season with the "fewest total yards allowed per game" [1]. The rules define this as total yards allowed divided by games played [1]. Ties go first to the team with fewer points allowed, then to the team with more total takeaways. If a tie still persists, the market resolves to "Other" [1]. The market also resolves to "Other" if the regular season is cancelled, postponed after January 26, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or if it is unclear which team led in that statistic [1].
The title uses the phrase "Highest-Rated," which the excerpt does not define, so readers should rely on the resolution wording.
Reading the snapshot
The provider observed these prices at 2026-10-18T03:00:06.384Z, and the source was retrieved at 2026-10-18T05:51:01.938Z [1]. The listed end time is 2027-01-27T04:59:00.000Z [1]. This is a contract close time, not evidence that the season has ended or that a result has been determined.
The saved sample covers 12 of 38 markets in this Polymarket event, so it is a partial sample [1]. The included markets were selected by Yes price, then volume. In this snapshot, every included market shows Yes at 0.5 and No at 0.5 [1]. Because the sample is partial, it does not show how any omitted market was priced. These are snapshot values, not executable quotes or verified probabilities. Volume is not shown here and would not indicate liquidity or the number of traders.
The included markets ask different questions. One asks whether "another team" will finish with the fewest yards allowed, while the others name individual teams [1]. Their equal prices should not be combined into a single figure for the field.
What remains uncertain
The evidence does not explain why the prices are at 0.5, and it does not describe trading activity beyond the stated snapshot. It also does not establish the current status of the 2026-27 season, recent results, or whether the "Other" outcome has been triggered. Only one source is supplied, so the contracts cannot be compared with other providers. Readers should review the full rules and the provider's current page before relying on any figure.

Saved Oct 18, 2026 UTCOverview
PredictPedia tracks a Polymarket event titled "Pro Football: 2026-27 Highest-Rated Defense" [1]. Despite the word "rated" in the title, the contract's written rules do not use a rating or score. They resolve on a plain statistic: the team that finishes the 2026-27 NFL regular season with the fewest total yards allowed per game, calculated as total yards allowed divided by games played [1]. The event lists a single winner, so each team has its own related market asking whether that team will finish first in this measure. The rules include tie-breakers. If two or more teams are tied on yards allowed per game, the team with fewer points allowed during the regular season takes the market. If the tie remains, the team with more total takeaways, meaning interceptions plus fumble recoveries, takes it. If the tie still persists, the market resolves to Other [1]. The rules also address disruption. If the season ends early, is shortened, or is truncated for any reason, the outcome is determined from available NFL statistics for completed games [1]. The market resolves to Other if the regular season is cancelled, if it is postponed after January 26, 2027 at 11:59 PM ET, or if it is unclear which team led the NFL in yards allowed per game within that timeframe [1]. The resolution source is official NFL information, though a consensus of credible reporting may also be used [1]. The event's listed end time is 2027-01-27T04:59:00Z [1]. That is a contract closing time in the rules, not an announced date for any game or event.
Why It Matters
The contract measures a team's defensive yardage allowed across a full regular season, scaled per game so that teams with different numbers of games played can be compared on the same basis [1]. Because the rules name total yards allowed divided by games played as the deciding figure, the contract concerns a single defensive statistic rather than an overall assessment of defensive quality [1]. Readers should keep the title's wording separate from the resolution language. The rules specify the statistic, the tie-breakers, the cancellation conditions, and the official source that decides the outcome [1].

How are ties handled?

When would the market resolve to Other?
The rules say it resolves to Other if the 2026-27 regular season is cancelled, if it is postponed after January 26, 2027 at 11:59 PM ET, or if it is unclear which team led the NFL in total yards allowed per game within that timeframe [1].
What happens if the season is shortened?
If the season concludes early, is shortened, or is truncated for any reason, the outcome is determined using available NFL statistics for completed games [1].
What is the resolution source?
The rules name official information from the NFL as the resolution source, and state that a consensus of credible reporting may also be used [1].
Do the listed prices show the likelihood of each team winning?
The prices are snapshots from a provider observation, not executable quotes or verified probabilities. The saved sample also covers only part of the event: the included markets are a subset of the event's total markets, so the sample does not represent the full field.
