About This Event

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the Close price for Apple (AAPL) on October 28, 2026 is higher than the listed price. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." If the two specified prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve to "No". Closing prices will be used exactly as published by Pyth, without rounding. If Apple (AAPL) does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. For a standard full trading session, the closing price refers to the Pyth "Close" value of the 1-minute candle corresponding to the final minute of regular trading hours on the primary exchange. If the specified day has no valid Pyth Close value for the 1-minute candle corresponding to the end of regular trading hours on the primary exchange, the market will use the last valid Pyth price achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange as the effective closing price. If no valid Pyth price exists for that trading day due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption, the official closing price published by the primary exchange on which the listed security trades will be used to determine the closing price for that day. If the listed date is not a trading day under the applicable trading-hours schedule as listed on Pyth, this market will resolve 50-50. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed security during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Pyth. The target price will be adjusted proportionally to reflect any stock splits. Resolution will be based on the historical price data as shown on Pyth after any adjustments have been applied. The resolution source for this market will be Pyth, specifically the "Close" values for the relevant 1-minute candle available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.AAPL%2FUSD.

What the contract measures

This snapshot covers five separate Polymarket contracts from one provider event, "Apple (AAPL) closes above ___ on October 28?" Each contract asks whether Apple's close on October 28, 2026 will be higher than a different listed price, from $335 to $355 [1]. Under the rules, a "Yes" resolution requires a close strictly above the listed price. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market resolves "No" [1].

The rules specify that the close is the Pyth "Close" value of the 1-minute candle for the final minute of regular trading hours on the primary exchange. Prices are used without rounding [1]. If Apple does not trade during the regular session, or the listed date is not a trading day on the applicable Pyth schedule, the market resolves 50-50 [1]. The listed end time is 2026-10-28T20:00:00.000Z [1]. That time is the listed end time in the provider data, not a confirmed resolution time.

Reading the snapshot

The provider observed these prices at 2026-10-27T21:00:06.613Z, and the application retrieved the source at 2026-10-27T23:28:52.119Z [1]. These are snapshots from that window. They are not current quotes, executable prices, or verified probabilities.

The saved prices for "Yes" are $335 at 0.955, $340 at 0.94, $345 at 0.68, $350 at 0.25, and $355 at 0.09 [1]. Each contract's "No" price is the complement of its "Yes" price in this snapshot. The prices fall as the threshold rises, which reflects how each contract is worded. The data does not explain why any price is where it is.

All five saved markets are included, and the sample is not marked partial [1]. The source notes that this does not establish that the provider lists every possible outcome [1]. The five contracts should be read as separate thresholds, not as a complete distribution of Apple's close.

What remains uncertain

The evidence does not show whether October 28, 2026 is a trading day under the Pyth schedule, whether any corporate action will affect the calculation, or what Apple's price will be at the close. Volume and trader counts are not included, so nothing here indicates liquidity or how many people hold each view. Because these contracts use different thresholds on the same event, a price difference between them does not by itself indicate an arbitrage opportunity.

Overview

This contract is a daily price-threshold market tied to Apple Inc. stock. It asks whether Apple's closing price on October 28, 2026 will be higher than a listed price. The market is hosted on Polymarket, and the event page is titled "Apple (AAPL) closes above ___ on October 28?" [1]. Each listed threshold is a separate market within the same event. The saved snapshot covers five thresholds, from $335 to $355 in $5 steps, each with a Yes and No outcome [1]. The contract's rules define the close as the Pyth "Close" value for the 1-minute candle at the final minute of regular trading hours on the primary exchange [1]. If the Pyth value for that minute is missing, the rules fall back to the last valid Pyth price during regular trading hours. If no valid Pyth price exists because of an outage or data failure, the rules use the official closing price published by the primary exchange [1]. The resolution is not based on a generic news report or an informal price check. It depends on the defined data source and its fallback order. The rules also set several edge cases. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market resolves No [1]. If Apple does not trade at all during the regular session, the market resolves 50-50. The same happens if the listed date is not a trading day under the Pyth trading-hours schedule [1]. If a stock split, reverse split, or similar corporate action affects the security during the time frame, the target price is adjusted proportionally and resolution uses split-adjusted Pyth data [1]. The listed end time is 20:00 UTC on October 28, 2026 [1]. This is a date written into the contract rules, not an announced company event.

Historical Context

Apple was founded in 1976 as Apple Computer Company by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, and was incorporated by Jobs and Wozniak as Apple Computer, Inc. the following year. The company adopted its current name in 2007 as it expanded from computers into consumer electronics [2]. This background does not describe Apple's present stock price or any current events.

Why It Matters

The contract measures whether Apple's official closing price for one specific trading day clears a chosen threshold. Because each threshold is its own market, the set of prices shows how the market priced different closing levels at the time of the snapshot [1]. Those prices are snapshots taken at the observation time, so they are not executable quotes or verified probabilities. The contract's resolution rules, especially the Pyth data source and the fallback sequence, determine the outcome, so anyone reading the market should check those rules directly [1]. Apple's public profile, including its headquarters and product lines, provides background on the underlying company but does not determine the contract outcome [2].

Snapshot context

The latest published provider snapshot for this topic was observed on 2026-10-27 at 21:00 UTC. It contains listings from Polymarket. Market descriptions and listed closing times define the contracts; they do not establish that the real-world outcome has occurred. This article does not include a separately verified news update. Frequently Asked Questions

What price determines whether this contract resolves Yes?

The contract uses the Pyth "Close" value for the 1-minute candle at the final minute of regular trading hours on the primary exchange. If that value is unavailable, it uses the last valid Pyth price during regular trading hours, and in a system outage it may use the primary exchange's official close [1].

What happens if the closing price equals the threshold exactly?

The market resolves No when the two specified prices are exactly equal [1].

What happens if Apple does not trade during the regular session?

The market resolves 50-50 if Apple does not trade at all during the regular session [1].

How are stock splits handled?

If a stock split, reverse split, or similar corporate action affects the security during the listed time frame, the market resolves using split-adjusted prices shown on Pyth, and the target price is adjusted proportionally [1].

Does the listed October 28 date mean a company event is scheduled?

No. The October 28, 2026 date is the contract's listed end date and the closing-price reference day, set by the market rules [1]. The contract does not describe an announced company event for that date.
