About This Event
This market will resolve to "Yes" if Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is arrested in Russia between market creation and October 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A qualifying arrest occurs when Ye is taken into physical custody by law enforcement authorities in Russia, voluntarily or involuntarily, and at least one of the following is true: (i) Ye is criminally booked or processed; (ii) Ye is taken into custody in response to a criminal arrest warrant, criminal charge, indictment, or equivalent criminal charging instrument; (iii) Ye is held for arraignment, bail, extradition, or other criminal court proceedings other than as a witness; or (iv) Ye is transported to a police station, immigration detention center, or equivalent criminal law enforcement center. The issuance of an arrest warrant, being named in an indictment, or being charged without Ye being taken into physical custody will not qualify. The following will not qualify on their own: brief detention, being interviewed or questioned, being searched, house arrest, electronic monitoring, protective custody, witness protection, or medical holds. Release on bail, recognizance, bond, dismissal of charges, withdrawal of charges, acquittal, pardon, or any other post-arrest development will not affect resolution once a qualifying arrest has occurred. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the arresting government and law enforcement; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
This analysis is awaiting a background update, so its prices may be older than the odds above.

What the contract measures
The contract asks whether "Kanye West arrested in Russia by October 31?" will resolve "Yes" [1]. According to the excerpt, it resolves "Yes" if "Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is arrested in Russia between market creation and October 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET" [1]. The rules require physical custody plus at least one listed criteria, such as being criminally booked or held for criminal court proceedings [1]. The excerpt states that "The issuance of an arrest warrant, being named in an indictment, or being charged without Ye being taken into physical custody will not qualify" [1]. It also lists activities that will not qualify on their own, including "brief detention" and "being interviewed or questioned" [1].
The listed end time is 2026-11-01T03:59:00.000Z [1]. The rules' date is a closing time for the contract, not an announced event date. The primary resolution source is described as "official information from the arresting government and law enforcement," with "a consensus of credible reporting" possibly used [1].
Reading the snapshot
The saved market shows a Yes price of 0.0035 and a No price of 0.9965 [1]. The observation time is 2026-10-16T00:00:06.034Z, and the source was retrieved at 2026-10-16T01:54:31.657Z [1]. These prices describe that saved snapshot only. They are not executable quotes, and they are not verified probabilities.
This sample covers one market from one platform, Polymarket, and the coverage record shows no omitted markets for this event [1]. Because the sample is not partial, no other outcomes for this event were saved. Nothing in the evidence establishes trading volume, liquidity, or the number of participants, so the price should not be read as a measure of agreement among traders.
What remains uncertain
The evidence does not include any reporting about Ye's location, legal status, or any arrest activity. Without that information, the snapshot cannot explain why the price is where it is. The excerpt also does not state any outcome beyond the binary Yes and No contract shown.
Readers comparing this contract with any other should check wording carefully. Different rules, close times, or resolution sources would change what each price measures, so prices across unlike contracts should not be treated as an arbitrage signal.

Overview
PredictPedia tracks a Polymarket contract titled "Kanye West arrested in Russia by October 31?" The contract asks whether Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, will be arrested in Russia between market creation and October 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET [1]. The listed end time is 2026-11-01T03:59:00Z, which corresponds to that deadline [1]. The contract resolves to Yes if a qualifying arrest occurs in that window and to No otherwise [1]. The contract's definition of a qualifying arrest is narrow. Ye must be taken into physical custody by Russian law enforcement, whether voluntarily or involuntarily, and at least one additional condition must also hold. Those conditions are that Ye is criminally booked or processed, that custody follows a criminal arrest warrant, charge, indictment, or equivalent charging instrument, that Ye is held for arraignment, bail, extradition, or other criminal court proceedings other than as a witness, or that Ye is transported to a police station, immigration detention center, or equivalent criminal law enforcement center [1]. Several events are excluded on their own. The rules state that issuing an arrest warrant, being named in an indictment, or being charged without physical custody does not qualify. Brief detention, questioning, being searched, house arrest, electronic monitoring, protective custody, witness protection, and medical holds are also listed as non-qualifying on their own [1]. Once a qualifying arrest has happened, later developments such as bail, dismissal, acquittal, or pardon do not change the resolution [1]. The primary resolution source is official information from the arresting government and law enforcement. The rules also allow a consensus of credible reporting to be used [1]. Because the contract turns on the specific custody and charging criteria, a news report alone is not automatically enough to establish resolution under these rules. The application's dated snapshot shows the market's status and prices at the time it was observed, and those figures should be read as a moment-in-time reference rather than a live quote.
Historical Context
A Wikipedia article on West's public views summarizes political activity over several years. It says he donated to the campaigns of Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012 and Hillary Clinton in 2016, publicly endorsed Donald Trump on several occasions from 2018 to 2020, and launched his own presidential campaign in 2020 [2]. The same article says he supported Trump again in 2024 and describes a 2024 campaign that was active for several months in late 2022, although no formal paperwork was filed [2]. The supplied sources do not address any arrest, legal proceeding, or travel involving Russia, so this background does not bear on whether the contract's conditions have been met.
Why It Matters
The contract measures one specific legal event, a qualifying physical custody by Russian authorities within a fixed window ending October 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET [1]. Its wording separates formal criminal custody from lesser encounters with police, so a reader needs the full definition to interpret any reported incident [1]. The rules also say the primary source is official government and law enforcement information, with credible consensus reporting as a secondary option, which affects how a resolution would be judged [1].
Snapshot context
The latest published provider snapshot for this topic was observed on 2026-10-16 at 00:00 UTC. It contains listings from Polymarket. Market descriptions and listed closing times define the contracts; they do not establish that the real-world outcome has occurred. This article does not include a separately verified news update. [1]
