About This Event
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the number of passing touchdowns C.J. Stroud records during the 2026-27 NFL regular season equals or exceeds the listed number. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". If C.J. Stroud does not play in the 2026-27 NFL regular season for any reason, this market will resolve to "No". If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is shortened, truncated, or ends early for any reason, the outcome shall be determined using available official data for completed games. If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after January 26, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or it cannot be determined how many passing touchdowns C.J. Stroud recorded within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "50-50". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
This analysis is awaiting a background update, so its prices may be older than the odds above.

What the contract measures
The contract asks whether C.J. Stroud will record at least a listed number of passing touchdowns in the 2026-27 NFL regular season [1]. The saved event contains five separate yes-or-no contracts with thresholds of 16.5, 19.5, 22.5, 25.5, and 28.5 [1]. A "Yes" resolution requires the count to "equal or exceed the listed number," and the market resolves "No" if Stroud does not play in the regular season "for any reason" [1]. If the season ends early, the outcome uses "available official data for completed games." If the season is cancelled, is postponed after the stated deadline, or the count cannot be determined, the market resolves to "50-50" [1]. The listed end time, 2027-01-27T04:59:00.000Z, is a provider field and does not establish an announced event date [1].
Reading the snapshot
The provider observed these prices at 2026-10-16T03:00:06.094Z, and the evidence was retrieved at 2026-10-16T05:54:27.041Z [1]. They describe that moment only and are not live or executable quotes. The Yes prices were 0.785 for 16.5, 0.755 for 22.5, 0.565 for 19.5, 0.195 for 25.5, and 0.165 for 28.5 [1]. Each price belongs to a different contract, so they should not be averaged or combined into a single probability distribution.
The sample is ordered by Yes price, not by threshold, which is why the 22.5 contract appears above the 19.5 contract [1]. A higher threshold for the same measure would ordinarily be expected to carry a lower Yes price, so this pairing deserves checking against the provider. The evidence does not explain it.
What remains uncertain
All five saved markets for this one event are included, but the provider's warning states that this "does not establish that the providers list every possible real-world outcome" [1]. The evidence covers a single platform, so no cross-platform comparison is possible. Differences in wording, such as the "50-50" rule for cancelled seasons, and in listed close times would need review before comparing any other venue.
No volume, liquidity, or trader counts are supplied, so the snapshot does not show market depth or how many participants hold a view. The evidence gives no reason for any price level or movement and contains no information about injuries, roster changes, or game results.

Overview
This PredictPedia contract is a Polymarket market tied to the number of passing touchdowns that C.J. Stroud records in the 2026-27 NFL regular season [1]. Each market in the event asks whether he will reach a stated threshold. For example, one market asks whether he will have 16.5 or more passing touchdowns, and the saved event includes several other thresholds [1]. The contract resolves to "Yes" if his count equals or exceeds the listed number and to "No" otherwise [1]. The rules also address several edge cases. If Stroud does not play in the 2026-27 NFL regular season for any reason, the market resolves to "No" [1]. If the regular season is shortened, truncated, or ends early, the outcome is determined using available official data for completed games [1]. If the season is cancelled, is postponed after January 26, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or it cannot be determined how many passing touchdowns Stroud recorded in that timeframe, the market resolves to "50-50" [1]. The listed end time in the rules is 2027-01-27T04:59:00.000Z [1]. That date is a closing time written into the contract, not an announced event date. The stated resolution source is official information from the NFL, although a consensus of credible reporting may also be used [1]. Because the rules allow for a consensus of reporting, the final count could depend on how official data and reporting are reconciled if they differ. The event was observed on 2026-10-16 and the provider lists its status as active [1]. The regular season in the contract is a future period relative to that observation, so the market should be understood as open rather than settled.
Historical Context
Background on Stroud's career comes from Wikipedia, which describes his college career at Ohio State, where he holds several school records, including most passing yards in a single game with 573 [2]. The same source says he was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2021 and 2022 and was selected second overall by the Houston Texans in the 2023 NFL draft [2]. It also says that in his rookie season he led the Texans to a division title and a playoff victory and won the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award [2]. These are historical details from his earlier career. They do not describe his 2026-27 season, and the supplied evidence does not include his passing totals for that season.
Why It Matters
The contract measures a single season-long statistic: how many passing touchdowns Stroud records in the 2026-27 NFL regular season [1]. Because the event contains multiple thresholds, each market is a separate yes or no question about the same count [1]. A contract at a higher threshold requires more touchdowns to resolve "Yes" than one at a lower threshold [1]. The rules make the contract sensitive to availability and season length. A player who does not play in the regular season resolves the market to "No" [1]. A shortened season is counted using completed games, and a season that cannot be fully counted can lead to a "50-50" resolution [1]. Readers should therefore read the resolution language closely rather than assuming the outcome depends only on touchdown totals.
