About This Event

This market will resolve according to the result of the season series between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers during the 2026-27 NFL regular season. If the Detroit Lions win the season series, this market will resolve to “Lions”. If the Green Bay Packers win the season series, this market will resolve to “Packers”. If the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers tie the season series, this market will resolve to “tie”. If any scheduled game between the listed teams during the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, not completed, or otherwise does not produce an official result — including due to a shortened, truncated, or early-ended season — the season series will be determined solely using official results of completed games. If the season is cancelled, no games between the teams are completed, or the result of the season series cannot otherwise be confirmed by January 26, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the NFL, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.

This analysis is awaiting a background update, so its prices may be older than the odds above.

What the contract measures

The supplied evidence covers one Polymarket event, "Pro Football: Lions vs. Packers Season Series Winner" [1]. The event states that it "will resolve according to the result of the season series between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers during the 2026-27 NFL regular season" [1]. Three separate binary markets are included: whether the series ends in a tie, whether the Lions win it, and whether the Packers win it [1].

The rules set the outcomes. If the Lions win, the market resolves to "Lions". If the Packers win, it resolves to "Packers". A tie resolves to "tie" [1]. If a scheduled game is cancelled or not completed, the series is decided only by completed games. If the result cannot be confirmed by January 26, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market resolves 50-50 [1]. The listed end time is 2027-01-27T04:59:00.000Z [1]. That timestamp is a listed close time, not a game date or an announced event.

Reading the snapshot

The provider observed these prices at 2026-10-19T03:00:06.086Z, and the application retrieved the source at 2026-10-19T04:37:53.717Z [1]. These are snapshots, not live or executable quotes.

  • Tie market: Yes 0.51, No 0.49 [1].
  • Lions market: Yes 0.47, No 0.53 [1].
  • Packers market: Yes 0.105, No 0.895 [1].

Each market is a separate contract. Their Yes prices sum to more than 1, which reflects that they are distinct questions with their own rules and order books, not a mispricing to exploit. The sample is complete for this saved event: all three markets are included and the coverage is not partial [1]. The source also notes that this does not establish that the provider lists every possible real-world outcome [1].

Volume data was not supplied, so this snapshot says nothing about liquidity or how many traders hold each view.

What remains uncertain

The evidence does not explain why the prices stand where they do, and it contains no news or reporting on either team's season. It does not show how the 50-50 fallback would apply to any specific schedule change beyond the rule text. Because the snapshot is from October 2026, current prices may differ. Readers should check the provider page for the latest quote and confirm the official season series result when it is available.

Overview

The Pro Football: Lions vs. Packers Season Series Winner event is tied to the 2026-27 NFL regular season matchup between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers [1]. It contains three contracts. One asks whether the Lions will win the season series, one asks whether the Packers will win it, and one asks whether the series will end in a tie [1]. None of these contracts asks about the result of a single game. Each one depends on the combined outcome of the season series between the two teams [1]. The rules set out how each contract resolves. If the Lions win the season series, the market resolves to Lions. If the Packers win it, the market resolves to Packers. If the two teams tie the series, the market resolves to tie [1]. If any scheduled game between the teams is cancelled, not completed, or otherwise fails to produce an official result, the series is decided only by the completed games. This also applies if the season is shortened, truncated, or ended early [1]. If the season is cancelled, no games between the teams are completed, or the series result cannot be confirmed by January 26, 2027 at 11:59 PM ET, the market resolves 50-50 [1]. The primary resolution source is information from the NFL, and a consensus of credible reporting is also used [1]. The rules list an end time of 2027-01-27 at 04:59 UTC for the contracts [1]. This is the listed end time in the contract rules. It is not an announced date for any game or event. Prices for these contracts are market snapshots. They are not executable quotes, and they are not verified probabilities of either team winning the series. The shared event in this sample includes all three saved contracts, one for each outcome that the rules define [1].

Historical Context

The Green Bay Packers were established in 1919 and are described as the third-oldest franchise in the NFL [2]. The team has played its home games at Lambeau Field since 1957, and it holds the record for the most wins and championships in NFL history [2]. The available sources do not provide the history of the Detroit Lions or of their series against Green Bay. A Wikipedia excerpt on the Packers-Vikings rivalry describes it only as a National Football League rivalry between the Packers and the Minnesota Vikings [3].

Why It Matters

The contract measures the head-to-head outcome of the 2026-27 NFL regular season series between the Lions and the Packers [1]. Because it resolves on the whole series rather than one game, it gives a single answer for the two teams' combined results across the season [1]. The tie outcome and the 50-50 fallback for cancellations or unconfirmed results mean that the contract has several distinct resolution paths [1]. The NFL is the primary resolution source, with credible reporting used as a consensus check [1].

Snapshot context

The latest published provider snapshot for this topic was observed on 2026-10-19 at 03:00 UTC. It contains listings from Polymarket. Market descriptions and listed closing times define the contracts; they do not establish that the real-world outcome has occurred. This article does not include a separately verified news update.
