About This Event
This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 21 Oct '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=zgsz If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. In the case that the Resolution Source publishes data, sufficient to settle a Market, that is clearly erroneous and the result of technical or operational error, or of unauthorized interference with the Resolution Source or its data, the Market may remain open for a period of up to seven (7) calendar days (ET) from the time of the original release, in anticipation of a correction by the Resolution Source. If the Resolution Source publishes a corrected value within that period, that value will be eligible for resolution. If no corrected value is published within that period, Polymarket will issue a Clarification to determine whether the originally published value may be eligible for resolution, or whether other action is required to preserve the orderly functioning of the Market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

What the contract measures
This event contains 11 binary markets on the lowest temperature at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport on October 21, 2026. The stated resolution source is NOAA: the market "will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 21 Oct '26" [1]. The source specifies the "lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day" [1].
Wording details matter for comparison. The market measures "whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C)" [1]. If NOAA data is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the following day, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table is used, and if no data exists by that time, "this market will resolve to the lowest bracket" [1]. Erroneous published data may keep a market open for up to seven calendar days (ET) pending correction [1]. The listed end time is 2026-10-21T12:00:00.000Z [1]. This is the listed close, not a confirmed resolution time.
Reading the snapshot
The prices come from an observation at 2026-10-19T06:00:06Z, retrieved at 06:57:02Z on the same day [1]. They describe that moment only and are not live quotes or executable prices. The status is "active" [1].
The Yes prices in this snapshot are: 20°C or below at 0.50; 21°C through 28°C at 0.34 each; 29°C at 0.0405; and 30°C or higher at 0.0055 [1]. Eight adjacent brackets show identical prices, and this snapshot does not explain why. The Yes prices across the 11 brackets do not sum to 1, so they should not be read as a complete probability distribution. Prices are not verified probabilities.
The sample is complete for this provider event: all 11 markets are included and the sample is not partial [1]. Nothing in the evidence indicates that other temperature brackets exist, but the source does not establish that every possible outcome is listed. Volume, which is not in this excerpt, would not indicate liquidity or the number of traders anyway.
What remains uncertain
The evidence does not show what temperature was recorded, whether NOAA data has been published, or whether any correction has occurred. It does not explain the price levels or any change in them, and it provides no other platform's contracts for comparison. Differences in wording, resolution sources, or close times between contracts on different platforms would need to be checked against each contract's own rules before any comparison. Any price difference alone does not indicate an opportunity.

Saved Oct 19, 2026 UTCOverview
This contract is a daily temperature market hosted on Polymarket for the lowest temperature in Shenzhen on October 21, 2026. It resolves to the temperature range that contains the lowest reading recorded by NOAA at the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport Station, measured in degrees Celsius for that date [1]. The market is organized as an event with several temperature brackets, each of which is its own yes or no contract, so a trader can take a position on whether the minimum falls in a particular bracket [1]. The resolution source is the NOAA time series for the station. The contract directs the reader to the lowest value in the "Temp" column for all times on that day, and it asks that the Celsius display be used [1]. The rules state that the source reports whole degrees Celsius, so resolution uses that level of precision [1]. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the following day, the rules name the Weather Underground Daily Observations table as the fallback [1]. If no data for the observation date exists by that deadline, the market resolves to the lowest bracket [1]. The contract also sets timing rules. It resolves once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day after the observation date, whichever comes first [1]. Revisions to temperatures within the market's timeframe are considered until the first data point for the following date is published, after which later changes are not considered [1]. The rules also address erroneous data. If the source publishes clearly erroneous data caused by technical or operational error or by unauthorized interference, the market may stay open for up to seven calendar days (ET) from the original release so the source can issue a correction [1]. If a corrected value appears in that window, it becomes eligible for resolution. If none appears, Polymarket may issue a clarification on whether the original value can be used or whether other action is needed [1]. The listed end time for the event is 2026-10-21T12:00:00.000Z, and the provider status in the saved record is active [1]. That end time is a field in the contract record and should not be read as a confirmed date for any event beyond what the contract rules describe. Shenzhen itself is a prefecture-level city in Guangdong, China, located on the east bank of the Pearl River estuary [2]. The Wikipedia excerpt reports a population of 18.2 million in 2025 and describes the Port of Shenzhen as the world's fourth-busiest container port [2]. These details describe the city generally and do not bear on the daily minimum temperature the contract measures.
Historical Context
The supplied Wikipedia excerpt describes Shenzhen as a special economic zone [2]. That is the only historical description in the available evidence, and it does not explain how the city's climate or weather reporting has changed over time. The supplied evidence does not describe the history of temperature measurement at the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport Station.
Why It Matters
The contract measures a single number: the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport Station on October 21, 2026, rounded to whole degrees Celsius [1]. Because each bracket is a separate contract, the event lets participants express views on different possible minimum temperatures for the same day [1]. The rules tie resolution to a named public data source, a named fallback, and a fixed deadline, so the outcome depends on what that source publishes rather than on general reports about the weather [1]. The correction and revision rules matter because a daily minimum can be revised after first publication. The contract accepts revisions until the first data point for the following day is published, and it allows a limited window for corrections of clearly erroneous data [1]. Anyone reading a price for this contract should therefore check the resolution rules directly rather than assume that the first published reading is final.
Snapshot context
The latest published provider snapshot for this topic was observed on 2026-10-19 at 06:00 UTC. It contains listings from Polymarket. Market descriptions and listed closing times define the contracts; they do not establish that the real-world outcome has occurred. This article does not include a separately verified news update. [1]
Frequently Asked Questions
What temperature does this contract measure?
It measures the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport Station on 21 Oct '26, expressed in degrees Celsius [1].
What happens if NOAA data is not available?
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table is used. If no data exists for the observation date by that deadline, the market resolves to the lowest bracket [1].
How precise is the measurement used for resolution?
The resolution source measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius, so resolution uses that level of precision [1].
Can the recorded temperature be corrected after publication?
Revisions are considered until the first data point for the following date has been published. If the source publishes clearly erroneous data because of technical or operational error or unauthorized interference, the market may remain open for up to seven calendar days (ET) for a correction, and a corrected value published in that window is eligible for resolution [1].
When does the market resolve?
It resolves once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first [1].
