About This Event
This market will resolve according to the listed driver that finishes 3rd in the driver standings for the 2026 F1 season. This market will resolve as soon as the official results of the final scheduled race of the 2026 F1 season are known. If multiple drivers tie for third place in the drivers standings, this market will resolve according to the tiebreak procedure used by F1 to determine final positions in the 2026 F1 Drivers' Championship standings. If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed driver to finish 3rd in the 2026 F1 Drivers' Championship standings based on the rules of F1 (e.g., they are mathematically eliminated from contention), the corresponding market will resolve to "No". If the F1 season is permanently canceled or has not been completed by February 28, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Formula 1.

What the contract measures
This event, "F1 Drivers' Champion: 3rd Place," contains eight separate Yes/No markets on Polymarket, each asking whether a named driver will finish third in the 2026 F1 Drivers' Championship [1]. The rules state that the market "will resolve according to the listed driver that finishes 3rd in the driver standings for the 2026 F1 season" [1]. If drivers tie for third, resolution follows "the tiebreak procedure used by F1" [1]. A market resolves to "No" if a listed driver becomes mathematically unable to finish third [1]. If the season is canceled or not completed by February 28, 2027, the market resolves to "Other" [1]. The primary resolution source is "official information from Formula 1" [1].
The listed end time is 2026-12-06T00:00:00.000Z [1]. The rules say resolution occurs "as soon as the official results of the final scheduled race of the 2026 F1 season are known" [1]. The listed end time is therefore a contract date, not an announced race date or a confirmed resolution date.
Reading the snapshot
The provider observation time is 2026-10-17T06:00:06.025Z, and the source was retrieved at 2026-10-17T07:15:49.066Z [1]. These prices describe that observation only and are not executable quotes or verified probabilities.
The saved Yes prices are: Piastri 0.495, Hadjar 0.495, Russell 0.485, Leclerc 0.485, Norris 0.485, Verstappen 0.48, Hamilton 0.25, and Antonelli 0.0095 [1]. Hamilton's and Antonelli's prices are noticeably lower than the others in this set. The first six drivers sit in a narrow band. Because the snapshot shows prices only, it does not explain why they differ.
Volume is not included in this reading, and it would not indicate liquidity or the number of traders in any case. All markets come from one platform, so no cross-platform comparison is made.
What remains uncertain
The coverage record reports 8 total markets, 8 included, and no partial sample [1]. The sample warning adds that this "does not establish that the providers list every possible real-world outcome" [1]. Each listed driver's price is shown only in relation to the saved set.
The evidence contains no information on current standings, race results, or any other developments after the observation time. It also does not show how the tiebreak would apply in any specific case. Each price reflects its own Yes/No contract, so differences between drivers do not create an arbitrage opportunity on their own.

Overview
This PredictPedia market is an event titled "F1 Drivers' Champion: 3rd Place" on Polymarket. It asks which listed driver will finish third in the driver standings for the 2026 Formula One season [1]. The event includes eight individual contracts, each asking whether one named driver will finish third. The named drivers are Oscar Piastri, Isack Hadjar, George Russell, Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli [1]. Each contract has a Yes and a No outcome, and its listed end time is 2026-12-06T00:00:00.000Z [1]. The contract rules say the market resolves as soon as the official results of the final scheduled race of the 2026 season are known [1]. If two or more drivers tie for third place in the standings, the market resolves according to the tiebreak procedure F1 uses to determine final positions in the 2026 Drivers' Championship [1]. The primary resolution source is official information from Formula 1 [1]. Several rules deal with outcomes that may not match a simple finish. If it becomes mathematically impossible for a listed driver to finish third under F1 rules, the corresponding market resolves to No [1]. If the season is permanently canceled, or has not been completed by February 28, 2027 at 11:59 PM ET, the market resolves to Other [1]. The listed end date in the contract is a closing date for the market and is not an announced date for any race or result [1]. The saved snapshot was observed at 2026-10-17T06:00:06.025Z and retrieved at 2026-10-17T07:15:49.080Z [1]. At that observation, the Yes prices were 0.495 for Piastri and Hadjar, 0.485 for Russell, Leclerc and Norris, 0.48 for Verstappen, 0.25 for Hamilton and 0.0095 for Antonelli [1]. These are provider price snapshots from that observation time. They are not executable quotes, verified probabilities or a current reading.
Why It Matters
The contract measures a single position in the final 2026 driver standings: third place. Because the rules tie resolution to official F1 results and tiebreak procedures, the outcome depends on how the season finishes rather than on any single race [1]. The listed drivers are all named in one provider event, so each contract is a separate question about a different driver's final position [1]. Prices in the snapshot show how each Yes side was priced at the observation time, but they do not show the likelihood of the result, and they do not indicate how much could be traded [1].
Snapshot context
The latest published provider snapshot for this topic was observed on 2026-10-17 at 06:00 UTC. It contains listings from Polymarket. Market descriptions and listed closing times define the contracts; they do not establish that the real-world outcome has occurred. This article does not include a separately verified news update. [1]
