About This Event

This market will resolve to "Yes" if Iranian military forces enter Kuwait by the listed date, 11:59 PM ET in a military operation that establishes control over any portion of Kuwait territory. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Any Iranian military operation which remains on the ground inside the territory of Kuwait for less than 48 hours will not qualify. Mere presence of Iranian military forces within Kuwait will not alone qualify, even if for longer than 48 hours. A consensus of credible reporting must demonstrate that such presence is or was part of a military operation which established control over a portion of Kuwait. Only the entry of Iranian military forces into the territory of Kuwait must occur by the listed date, 11:59 PM ET. Where Iranian military forces enter the territory of Kuwait by the listed date, but on the listed date, at 11:59 PM ET, control has not yet been confirmed by a consensus of credible reporting, this market will remain open for 7 additional full calendar days (ET) to allow for confirmation. If, at the end of the seventh calendar day, no consensus of credible reporting indicates that the operation has established or did establish control over part of Kuwait, this market will resolve to "No." No single statement, denial, or presentation of evidence will govern where it is contradicted by a consensus of credible reporting. Hybrid or "grey zone" operations conducted by unmarked personnel will qualify if they are confirmed to be acting under the direct control of the Iranian state and establish de facto control over territory. Search and rescue or hostage rescue operations, operations intended solely to capture specific individuals, operations solely intended to evacuate personnel or to extract or destroy equipment or infrastructure, and intelligence, reconnaissance, or surveillance operations, whether overt or covert, will not qualify unless clearly demonstrated by a consensus of credible reporting to have satisfied this market’s criteria for a “Yes” resolution. Operations conducted with the consent or at the invitation of the government of Kuwait and strikes by air, missile, drone, or naval forces unaccompanied by ground forces will not qualify. The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.

This analysis is awaiting a background update, so its prices may be older than the odds above.

What the contract measures

This event asks whether Iranian military forces will enter Kuwait by a listed date. According to the rules excerpt, the market resolves "Yes" only if forces enter "in a military operation that establishes control over any portion of Kuwait territory" [1]. Operations lasting less than 48 hours do not qualify, and mere presence is not enough [1]. The resolution source is "a consensus of credible reporting" [1]. If entry occurs by the deadline but control is not yet confirmed, the market stays open for 7 additional full calendar days (ET) [1]. Strikes without ground forces, evacuation or intelligence operations, and operations with Kuwait's consent do not qualify [1].

The two saved contracts differ only in their deadlines. The "by December 31" contract lists an end time of 2027-01-01T04:59:00.000Z, and the "by October 31" contract lists 2026-11-01T03:59:00.000Z [1]. Both are described in the excerpt as 11:59 PM ET on their listed dates, so the earlier contract closes about two months sooner. Because the rules apply the same criteria to each, the difference in their prices reflects the different windows, not different definitions.

Reading the snapshot

The provider observed these prices at 2026-10-21T15:00:05.980Z, and the application retrieved them at 2026-10-21T15:09:43.457Z [1]. They describe that moment only. The "by December 31" contract showed Yes at 0.0595 and No at 0.9405. The "by October 31" contract showed Yes at 0.0045 and No at 0.9955 [1]. These are snapshot prices, not executable quotes or verified probabilities. The saved data includes no volume, liquidity, or trader counts, so it cannot show how deep either market is.

The sample covers all two saved markets for this single provider event, with no partial sample flagged [1]. Because only these two deadlines are included, the sample does not show whether other outcomes exist for this question, and no conclusion should be drawn about unlisted outcomes.

What remains uncertain

The snapshot does not explain why either price is where it is, and it contains no reporting or news that would account for it. The excerpt also does not establish whether any qualifying event has occurred. Each contract's outcome depends on the consensus of credible reporting that the rules describe, which is outside this snapshot. Differences between the two prices should not be treated as an arbitrage opportunity without current, executable quotes and a full review of the rules.
