About This Event

The 2026 AR-01 House election is currently expected to be held on November 3, 2026. This market will resolve according to the margin of victory between the top two candidates in the specified election. The "margin of victory" is defined as the absolute difference between the percentages of valid votes received by the first-place and second-place candidates. Percentages of the valid votes received by each candidate will be determined by dividing the total number of valid votes each of the top two candidates receives by the sum of all valid votes cast in the election. For purposes of this market, candidates nominated by the Democratic & Republican Parties will represent the options for "Democrat" and "Republican," respectively. Independent candidates will not represent options for either party. The candidates may be named in the contract for the convenience of traders. In the event that any named candidate is replaced as the nominee of their respective party prior to election day, the name in the contract will be updated and the market will resolve based on the replacement nominee of the party. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher margin bracket. If two or more candidates tie for the most valid votes in this election, and the tie is between two candidates listed, this market will resolve to the lowest margin bracket for the candidate whose ballot-listed last name comes first in alphabetical order. If the tie is between a listed candidate and an unlisted candidate, this market will resolve to the lowest margin bracket for the listed candidate. If the tie is between two or more unlisted candidates, this market will resolve to "Other." If the listed candidate is represented in this market group as "Republican" or "Democrat" their ballot-listed last name will still be used for tiebreaking. This market will resolve based on the official vote count once the count has been made official. If the election results are not known definitively by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". If a recount is initiated before the vote total has been made official, the market will remain open until the recount is completed and the vote is made official. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 AR-01 House election as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

What the contract measures

The Polymarket AR-01 margin event resolves on the gap between the top two candidates. Its rules define margin as "the absolute difference between the percentages of valid votes received by the first-place and second-place candidates" [4]. A value that "falls exactly between two brackets" resolves to the higher bracket [4]. Resolution depends on the official vote count, with "Other" used if results are not known definitively by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET [4]. That date is a rule fallback, not an announced event date.

The Kalshi AR-01 winner contract measures something different. It resolves on the House member "sworn in for AR-01 for the term beginning in 2027" [3]. It can be determined early after "a consensus of media organizations project the winner" [3]. Its listed end time is not supplied in the excerpt, though the market data shows an end date of 2027-11-03 15:00 UTC.

The supplied excerpts do not include the rule text for the Polymarket AR-01 winner event, so its resolution terms cannot be compared directly.

Reading the snapshot

The provider data was observed at 2026-11-03 09:00:06 UTC and retrieved at 11:07:56 UTC. These are the times of this snapshot, not a live feed. Prices are snapshot values, not executable quotes or verified probabilities.

All ten Polymarket margin brackets are included, with no partial sample flagged. The sample warning still states that this does not establish that the provider lists every possible outcome. Among the included brackets, the highest Yes price is the Republican 30% to 35% bracket at 0.31, followed by 40% to 45% at 0.24 and 35% to 40% at 0.14. The Democratic winner contract in the same event is 0.0075. The Yes prices across the ten brackets total about 0.95, so they do not form a complete distribution in this snapshot.

For the winner contracts, Kalshi shows Republican Yes at 0.987 and Democratic Yes at 0.009. Polymarket's AR-01 winner event shows Republican at 0.988 and Democratic at 0.011. These come from different platforms with different wording and close times, so they should not be averaged or compared as an arbitrage opportunity.

What remains uncertain

No vote count appears in the evidence, so the snapshot cannot indicate an outcome. Volume and trader counts are not supplied, so these prices cannot be read as liquidity or confidence. The evidence does not explain why prices are at these levels. The Polymarket margin listed end time is 2026-11-04 04:59 UTC, while the Kalshi winner data lists a 2027 end date, and the reader should not assume these timings reflect a result announcement.
