About This Event

This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature reported at Warsaw Chopin Airport (EPWA) on 5 Nov '26. The qualifying value is the highest temperature reported in the hourly temperature remark of any routine (METAR) observation for Warsaw Chopin Airport (EPWA) on that date, in tenths of a degree Celsius as reported. A report whose line begins with SPECI is a special observation and does not count. Every other report is routine, including one issued off the nominal hour and one that carries no METAR or SPECI label. For How to Read the METAR Report, see: https://polymarket-upload.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/market_products/Weather/How+to+Read+the+METAR+Report.pdf The hourly temperature remark is the group beginning with the letter T followed by exactly eight digits. After the T, one digit for sign (0 positive, 1 negative) and three for tenths of a degree Celsius give the temperature; the following four are the dew point and are not used. T01390133 is 13.9°C; T10171022 is −1.7°C. If a routine observation does not carry the hourly temperature remark, the temperature group in the body of that observation governs for that observation, in whole degrees Celsius as reported. It appears as temperature and dew point separated by a slash, with M marking a negative value: 18/12 is 18°C; M11/M17 is −11°C. An observation that reports no temperature in either place is disregarded. Each market in this event states its range in whole degrees Celsius. The qualifying value is rounded to the nearest whole degree, with a value ending in exactly half rounded up to the next higher whole degree, and that whole Celsius value determines which range contains it. For example, 13.9°C counts as 14°C; 17.4°C counts as 17°C; 16.5°C counts as 17°C; −1.7°C counts as −2°C; −8.5°C counts as −8°C. An observation counts if its time stamp, converted to the station's local time (including any daylight-saving shift in effect), falls on the observation date. This market will resolve at the issuance of the first METAR observation for the station on the day following the observation date or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. Resolution is determined from the observations the resolution source shows for the observation date. In the event that the Aviation Weather Center has published no routine observation reporting a temperature for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that neither source has published data sufficient to determine a temperature for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. The report the resolution source shows for a given observation time is the one that counts, whether or not it is marked as a correction (COR). Changes to observations within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered. Where the first routine observation for the following date is published before that deadline, resolution is determined from a read taken after it. Where it is not, resolution is determined from a read taken at that deadline. In the case that the Resolution Source publishes data, sufficient to settle a Market, that is clearly erroneous and the result of technical or operational error, or of unauthorized interference with the Resolution Source or its data, the Market may remain open for a period of up to seven (7) calendar days (ET) from the time of the original release, in anticipation of a correction by the Resolution Source. If the Resolution Source publishes a corrected value within that period, that value will be eligible for resolution. If no corrected value is published within that period, Polymarket will issue a Clarification to determine whether the originally published value may be eligible for resolution, or whether other action is required to preserve the orderly functioning of the Market. The resolution source for this market will be the routine observations for Warsaw Chopin Airport (EPWA) published here: https://aviationweather.gov/api/data/metar?ids=EPWA&format=raw&date=2026-11-06T02:00:00Z&hours=30

What the contract measures

This event asks which whole-degree Celsius range will contain the highest temperature at Warsaw Chopin Airport (EPWA) on 5 November 2026 [1]. The qualifying value comes from routine METAR observations only. The source states that "A report whose line begins with SPECI is a special observation and does not count" [1]. Temperatures are read from the hourly temperature remark when present, and "the qualifying value is rounded to the nearest whole degree, with a value ending in exactly half rounded up to the next higher whole degree" [1]. The source gives examples, including that "16.5°C counts as 17°C" [1].

Resolution wording matters. The rules say the market "will resolve at the issuance of the first METAR observation for the station on the day following the observation date or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first" [1]. The source also lists an end time of 2026-11-05T12:00:00.000Z [1]. These are different fields, and the rule text does not say the listed end time is the resolution moment, so readers should rely on the full rule text.

Reading the snapshot

The provider observed these prices at 2026-11-03T21:00:06Z, and the record was retrieved at 2026-11-04T01:08:05Z [1]. They are snapshots of quoted Yes and No prices, not executable quotes or verified probabilities, and they may have changed since observation.

The sample includes 11 of 11 markets for this event, with no partial sample flagged [1]. The most-priced ranges in the snapshot are 9°C (Yes 0.46) and 10°C (Yes 0.38) [1]. Other ranges, including 8°C (Yes 0.095) and 11°C (Yes 0.065), carry much lower Yes prices [1]. Because the full set of listed Yes prices sums to about 1.04, the figures should be read as individual quotes rather than a normalized distribution.

Volume and market activity are not part of this snapshot's interpretation. The data does not show how many traders hold each view, so no inference about consensus is supported.

What remains uncertain

The evidence does not show the actual temperature for 5 November, any later price, or whether the resolution source has published data. It also does not establish that the provider lists every possible real-world outcome, although this event's saved markets are complete [1]. The rules contain provisions for corrected observations and a fallback data source, so the final result depends on the data shown at resolution [1]. Because the snapshot predates the current date, prices shown here should not be treated as current.

Overview

This PredictPedia entry covers a weather contract on the highest temperature recorded in Warsaw on November 5, 2026. The contract is part of a multi-range event. Each market asks whether the qualifying temperature for the observation date falls within a specific whole-degree Celsius range [1]. The qualifying value comes from Warsaw Chopin Airport, identified by the station code EPWA. The contract uses the highest hourly temperature reported in routine METAR observations for that airport on the observation date [1]. METAR is a standard aviation weather report format. Special observations, which the rules identify by a SPECI label, do not count [1]. Routine reports count even when issued off the nominal hour or when they lack a METAR or SPECI label [1]. The rules identify the hourly temperature as a group beginning with the letter T, followed by a sign digit and three digits giving tenths of a degree Celsius. The dew point in that group is not used [1]. If a routine observation lacks that hourly group, the rules fall back to the whole-degree temperature in the body of the report [1]. An observation counts only if its timestamp, converted to Warsaw local time including any daylight-saving shift, falls on the observation date [1]. The rules round the qualifying value to the nearest whole degree Celsius, with values ending in exactly half rounded up. That rounded whole-degree value determines which range contains it [1]. The contract therefore does not compare the raw decimal reading directly with range boundaries. The primary resolution source is the set of routine aviation weather observations for EPWA published by the Aviation Weather Center [1]. If that source has published no routine observation reporting a temperature for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the following day, the rules name the Weather Underground Daily Observations table as a backup [1]. If neither source has published enough data by that deadline, the rules say the market resolves to the lowest bracket [1]. The timing of resolution is set by the rules. The market resolves at the issuance of the first METAR observation for the station on the day after the observation date, or by 11:59 PM ET on that day, whichever comes first [1]. The listed end time in the retrieved provider record is 2026-11-05T12:00:00Z [1]. That listed end time is a provider field and is separate from the observation date and the resolution mechanics described in the rules. Warsaw, the city named in the contract, is the capital and most populous city of Poland. It stands on the Vistula river in east-central Poland [2]. This background describes the location of the city and does not indicate anything about its weather on any particular date.

Why It Matters

The contract measures a single numerical outcome: the highest qualifying temperature at Warsaw Chopin Airport on November 5, 2026, expressed in whole degrees Celsius [1]. Each range market asks whether that value lands in its specified bracket. Because the rules define the observation source, the report type, the timezone, the rounding method, and the fallback sources in detail, a market's outcome depends on those rules rather than on general weather descriptions for Warsaw [1]. The rules also address corrections and disputes. The report the resolution source shows for a given observation time counts, whether or not it is marked as a correction [1]. Changes are considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which alterations are not considered [1]. If the resolution source publishes clearly erroneous data caused by technical or operational error, or by unauthorized interference, the market may remain open for up to seven calendar days (ET) for a possible correction [1]. If no corrected value appears in that window, the platform may issue a clarification [1].

Snapshot context

The latest published provider snapshot for this topic was observed on 2026-11-03 at 21:00 UTC. It contains listings from Polymarket. Market descriptions and listed closing times define the contracts; they do not establish that the real-world outcome has occurred. This article does not include a separately verified news update. Frequently Asked Questions

Which observations determine the outcome?

The rules use the highest hourly temperature in routine METAR observations for Warsaw Chopin Airport (EPWA) on the observation date. SPECI special observations do not count [1].

How is the temperature rounded?

The qualifying value is rounded to the nearest whole degree Celsius, and a value ending in exactly half is rounded up. That whole-degree value determines the range [1].

What happens if the primary source has no usable data?

If the Aviation Weather Center has published no routine observation reporting a temperature for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the following day, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table is used. If neither source has enough data by that deadline, the market resolves to the lowest bracket [1].

Do corrected observations count?

The report the resolution source shows for a given observation time counts, whether or not it is marked as a correction (COR). Changes are considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published [1].

Is the listed end time the same as the resolution time?

No. The rules tie resolution to the issuance of the first METAR observation for the station on the day after the observation date, or to 11:59 PM ET that day, whichever comes first. The retrieved provider record lists a separate end time of 2026-11-05T12:00:00Z [1].
