About This Event
This market will resolve to “Yes” if the first individual that Donald Trump endorses for President of the United States in the 2028 United States Presidential Election by the day before the first Republican presidential primary or caucus for the 2028 cycle, 11:59 PM ET, wins and accepts the Republican Party’s nomination to the 2028 United States Presidential Election. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. Any replacement of the Republican Party’s nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market. The following rules govern the determination of the first individual that Donald Trump endorses for President of the United States in the 2028 United States Presidential Election: An endorsement is defined as a statement by Donald Trump that i) is made publicly (e.g., through a press release, an on-the-record interview, a speech, a campaign event, a post from a verified account on social media); ii) explicitly and unambiguously expresses unique support for an individual as a candidate for President of the United States in the 2028 United States Presidential Election; and iii) is characterized by a consensus of credible reporting as an official endorsement by Donald Trump of the individual for President in the 2028 United States Presidential Election. An endorsement of an individual for the Republican Party’s nomination to the 2028 United States Presidential Election will qualify as an endorsement for the 2028 United States Presidential Election. Endorsements of a candidate for the Democratic Party's nomination without also endorsing that candidate for President in the general election will not qualify. The following will not be considered endorsements: positive or favorable comments about a candidate without a clear public statement of direct support; conditional statements giving support only if certain conditions are met; statements equally expressing support for multiple candidates (e.g., “I support Marco and J.D.”); statements expressing opposition to a candidate without endorsing any candidate; private or non-public statements; and statements that are clearly sarcastic, made in jest, or immediately clarified as not reflecting genuine support. An endorsement of a ticket comprising a presidential candidate and a vice-presidential candidate constitutes a qualifying endorsement only of the individual endorsed for President. If the endorsement is of a ticket with undefined presidential and vice-presidential roles, or the roles on an endorsed ticket cannot be determined by the statement itself or a consensus of credible reporting, no qualifying endorsement will be deemed to have occurred. If Donald Trump issues multiple concurrent statements meeting this standard, directed at different individuals, this will not constitute a qualifying endorsement and this market will remain open and resolve based on the first standalone qualifying endorsement issued. Endorsements will be considered to be issued concurrently only if they are issued in the same written statement (e.g., a public social media post), or in a singular public speaking event (e.g., a press conference, a speech). Endorsements via social media count only from verified accounts controlled by Donald Trump. Likes, reposts, or shares alone do not constitute a qualifying endorsement. If Donald Trump officially files his candidacy for the 2028 United States Presidential Election before issuing a qualifying endorsement, he will be considered to have endorsed himself. Statements alone will not be sufficient to constitute Trump’s endorsement of himself. Once a qualifying endorsement has occurred, subsequent retractions, rescissions, or endorsements of other individuals will not affect the determination of the first individual endorsed. If Donald Trump does not issue any qualifying endorsements, or file his own candidacy, by the day before the first Republican presidential primary or caucus for the 2028 cycle, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “No”. The resolution sources for Trump’s endorsement will be official statements from Donald Trump and a consensus of credible reporting. The resolution sources for the 2028 Republican Party nominee will be a consensus of official Republican Party sources.

What the contract measures
The contract asks whether the first individual Donald Trump endorses for the 2028 U.S. presidential election will win and accept the Republican Party's nomination [1]. An endorsement must be a public statement that expresses "unique support for an individual as a candidate for President," and that is characterized by "a consensus of credible reporting" as an official endorsement [1]. The rules exclude conditional statements, statements backing several candidates equally, and social media likes or reposts [1].
The timing is set by the first Republican presidential primary or caucus for the 2028 cycle. The market resolves "Yes" if the endorsed individual wins the nomination, and "No" otherwise, with a check at "11:59 PM ET" on the day before that primary or caucus [1]. The source does not give the date of that primary or caucus, so the resolution trigger cannot be dated from this evidence. The listed end time of 2028-08-31T23:59:00.000Z is a provider field, and the source does not link it to an announced event [1].
Reading the snapshot
The provider observed this market at 2026-10-16T03:00:06.094Z, and the record was retrieved at 2026-10-16T03:24:21.543Z [1]. The saved prices are "Yes" at 0.47 and "No" at 0.53 [1]. These are snapshot prices from that observation time. They are not executable quotes, and they should not be read as verified probabilities.
This sample contains one market from one provider event, and all of that event's saved markets are included [1]. No other outcome or platform is compared here, so no cross-contract average or ranking is applicable. The provider's status is listed as active [1]. The volume field is not included in this evidence, so nothing can be said about liquidity or the number of traders.
What remains uncertain
The evidence does not establish the date of the first 2028 Republican primary or caucus, whether Trump has made any endorsement, or whether any statement would meet the rules' standard. It also does not explain why the snapshot prices are where they are. The contract's resolution depends on "a consensus of credible reporting" and on "official Republican Party sources" for the nominee [1], so resolution judgments may involve interpretation not captured in a price snapshot. Readers should check the current contract page and rules before relying on any figure.

Overview
This PredictPedia contract asks whether the first individual Donald Trump endorses for president in the 2028 cycle will go on to win and accept the Republican Party's nomination [1]. It is a conditional question. It does not ask who will win the nomination outright, and it does not depend on whether Trump endorses anyone at all in the broader race. If Trump makes no qualifying endorsement, or files his own candidacy, before the day before the first Republican presidential primary or caucus, the contract resolves to No [1]. The timing reference point is the first Republican presidential primary or caucus for the 2028 cycle. Wikipedia's article on the 2028 Republican primaries describes a planned series of contests across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and five U.S. territories, and notes that no primary dates had been determined when that article was retrieved [2]. Because no first-contest date is fixed in the supplied background, the endorsement window has no known closing date beyond what the contract describes. The contract also sits within a wider 2028 election calendar. Wikipedia's article on the 2028 Senate elections states that those races will be held on November 7, 2028, alongside the presidential election [3]. That article concerns other offices and does not define this contract's rules.
Why It Matters
The contract measures whether a presidential endorsement made before the Republican primaries turns into a nomination. It treats the endorsement as a signal that is tested by a later event: the endorsed person must both win and accept the Republican nomination [1]. Replacing the party's nominee before election day does not change the resolution, so the contract is tied to the nomination outcome rather than to the eventual general election result [1]. The strict wording matters for interpretation. Favorable comments, conditional support, praise for several candidates at once, opposition to a candidate, private remarks, and sarcastic or immediately clarified statements do not count [1]. For tickets, only the endorsed presidential candidate qualifies, and an endorsement of a ticket with unclear roles does not count [1]. Likes, reposts, and shares are not endorsements, and social media endorsements count only from verified accounts controlled by Trump [1].
Snapshot context
The latest published provider snapshot for this topic was observed on 2026-10-16 at 03:00 UTC. It contains listings from Polymarket. Frequently Asked Questions
What counts as a qualifying endorsement?
A qualifying endorsement is a public statement by Trump, such as a press release, on-the-record interview, speech, or post from a verified account, that explicitly and unambiguously expresses unique support for an individual as a 2028 presidential candidate and is characterized by a consensus of credible reporting as an official endorsement [1]. Likes, reposts, or shares alone do not qualify [1].
What happens if Trump endorses a candidate who does not win the nomination?
The contract resolves to Yes only if the first endorsed individual wins and accepts the Republican Party's nomination [1]. If that person does not win and accept the nomination, the contract resolves to No under the stated rules [1].
What if Trump files his own 2028 candidacy before endorsing anyone?
If Trump officially files his candidacy before issuing a qualifying endorsement, he is considered to have endorsed himself, although statements alone are not sufficient to establish that self-endorsement [1].
Does a change in the Republican nominee affect resolution?
No. The contract states that any replacement of the Republican Party's nominee before election day will not change how the market resolves [1].
Is the listed end date the date of a known event?
No. The listed end time of August 31, 2028 is a provider field for when the contract closes [1]. The contract rules refer to the day before the first Republican primary or caucus for the 2028 cycle, and that primary date had not been determined in the background source [1][2].
