What the contract measures
The contract asks whether Dalton Eatherly will be convicted of any attempted murder charge in the ongoing State of Tennessee v. Dalton Levi Eatherly case. The rules say the market will resolve to "Yes" if that conviction occurs by July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, and otherwise to "No" [1]. Several situations resolve to "No," including a plea agreement without an admission of guilt, a dismissal, or a case in which no judgment is rendered [1]. If all relevant attempted murder charges are dropped, the market resolves to "No" immediately [1]. A mistrial keeps the market open until the resolution date so that retrials can be considered [1]. The rules state that the market resolves according to the initial judgment and that appeals have no bearing on it [1].
Reading the snapshot
The provider recorded a Yes price of 0.115 and a No price of 0.885 [1]. The observation time was 2026-10-16T00:00:06.034Z, and the source was retrieved at 2026-10-16T00:49:49.709Z [1]. These figures describe that snapshot only. They are not executable quotes or verified probabilities, and they may not reflect prices at any later time.
The listed end time is 2027-08-01T03:59:00.000Z [1]. This is the same moment as the July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET deadline in the rules, so the listed close and the stated rule deadline align. The listed close is a closing time for trading, not an announced court date or the date of any judgment.
The sample includes one market from one event, and the coverage record marks it as complete for that event [1]. Because only this contract is shown, no comparison with other contracts or platforms is made here.
What remains uncertain
The supplied evidence does not describe the court schedule, any hearings, or any trial date. It does not explain why the prices stand where they do. The excerpt links to a local news article, but that article's content is not included in the evidence, so this summary does not rely on it. The rules allow "other credible reporting" as a secondary resolution source, but the primary source is an official judgment [1]. Readers should check the current contract rules and the case record directly before drawing conclusions about the outcome.

Overview
This market asks whether Dalton Eatherly, known by the name Chud the Builder, will be convicted of any attempted murder charge. The event is titled "Chud the Builder convicted of attempted murder?" and is listed in the Politics category [1]. According to the contract text, Eatherly has been charged with attempted murder by the State of Tennessee, and the case is identified as State of Tennessee v. Dalton Levi Eatherly, case number 63GS1-2026-CR-5295 [1]. The contract resolves to Yes only if a conviction on an attempted murder charge is entered in that case by July 31, 2027, at 11:59 PM ET [1]. The listed end time for the event is August 1, 2027, at 03:59 UTC [1]. The rules are the main point of interest here. A conviction is required, not just a charge or an arrest. A conviction is also not enough on its own if no attempted murder charge remains at the end. Several outcomes lead to a No resolution under the rules. A plea agreement that ends the case without an admission of guilt, a dismissal, or any outcome in which the court renders no judgment would resolve the market to No [1]. If all relevant attempted murder charges are dropped or changed so that none remain, the rules say the market would resolve to No immediately [1]. The rules also address mistrials. A mistrial would keep the market open until the resolution date so that a retrial could be considered. If no attempted murder conviction is rendered by that date, the market resolves to No [1]. The contract specifies that resolution follows the initial judgment in the case, and appeals do not affect the outcome [1]. The primary resolution source is an official judgment from the ruling court, though other credible reporting may be used [1].
Why It Matters
The contract measures whether a court enters a conviction on any attempted murder charge in one specific Tennessee case by a stated deadline. It does not ask whether the person committed the alleged conduct, whether charges will be filed in other matters, or whether an appeal will succeed, since appeals have no bearing on resolution [1]. Because pleas without an admission of guilt, dismissals, and the absence of any judgment all lead to No, the contract narrows what counts as a Yes [1]. Readers should check the full rules before interpreting the market, because the path to resolution depends on court outcomes that are not yet known from the supplied material [1].
